Over 25 years of experience in Indian Army and Survey of India. He is Civil engineer from National Institute of Technology Rourkela with masters in Survey Engineering, Photogrammetry & Remote Sensing, Disaster management.

Prof D M Banerjee is Former Professor of Geology, University of Delhi and INSA Senior Scientist, Honorary Scientist and now Emeritus Scientists after retirement in 2007. He did his doctrate in 1967 from Lucknow University with expertise on understanding Geology of Kumaon Himalayas. Before becoming a fulltime professor he also served Geological Survey of India for 3 years, after which he joined University of Delhi in 1970 and retired from his academic services in 2007.

Under his able guidance 16 Ph.ds and numerous M.Sc & M.Phil research were carried out. He has been the recipient of National Mineral Award in the year 2000 by Ministry of Mines, He was an elected fellow of Indian National Science Academy in 1999 and member of INSA Council from the year 2021 onwards, He is also Member UNESCO-IGCP Scientific Board, Chair: Indian National Committee for International Union of Geological Sciences and INQUA. He is also Subject Editor for PINSA and has 200 Research publications in Peer-Reviewed journals to his credit.

Shri Tyagi is Technical Expert Advisor for IIT Roorkee & DTU; Expert Advisor in NIUA for preparation of Master Plan 2041 by DDA; Expert Member for evaluation of 100 smart cities of India; by Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, GOI. He has a vast experience of more than 37 years in Water and Wastewater sectors, Climate change, water bodies, cleaning of River Yamuna, I.T. and handling prestigious projects of ASIAD-1982 and Commonwealth and various water related construction projects.

Along with her main work in Astronomy and Science Communication, she is also passionate about Accessibility and Inclusion in Science and has been working to create pathways to enhance the access of neglected groups such as people with low-economic backgrounds and people with visual disabilities.

She is keen to use the knowledge from her educational and professional experiences to support the advancement and understanding of educational and technological applications for disaster preparedness, which would ultimately enhance the resilience of our society as a whole.
